The Rocks and hills there were really cool looking

Susie and Kim at the memorial site

All of us girls at the site, you can see how tall it is

You can see there have been many memorials dedicated to this area. This spot, I beleive is where they buried most of the people as possible, but they were spread out over a large area, so it is hard to know exactly.

THis is the Grave Site Memorial

The Medow Area where the Massacre happened.

The memorial for those that died

Susie and Mom (Kaye) at the memorial overlooking the Medow.

Mariah Susie Mom and Dad and Kim. Behind us is the Medow where the Massacre took place

My Dad (Arley) with his Aunt Carma
Part of our trip to St. George included some family history and visiting our relatives. Suie, Kim, and I had never met these realtives before, although we have heard of them before. This was such a sweet blessing to meet these wonderful people. We have been blessed with a great heritage.

The Cove Fort Plaque

Quilt (I thought it had a cool pattern)

Another Veiw into the Hinkleys origional home.

Inside the Hinkleys Coalville home. The China Platter is the Origional carried accross the planes from Nauvoo.

The Entrance to Cove Fort. The walls are 18 feet high, and 4 feet are under ground they are very thick also.

A Barn.

Family standing in the entrance.

Kim Pointing to which Book of Mormon she will teach out of when she serves a mission. Elder Mitchall would spin the girls and they would point with their eyes closed. Kim Pointed to Germany, Susie pointed to Bulgaria and Africa. I didn't point because I was married.

All us Girls on the look out point on top of the fort

All of us on top of the the fort lookout.

Veiw off the Fort Lookout.

Lace on the Pillows. This seems like such an insgnificant thing, but these people were out in the middle of nowhere dessert yet they tried so hard to make things comfortable and beautiful.

THis is Sister Hinkley's origional rocker (it is very short. If Iwere to sit in it, my knees would be in my face.) President Hinkley brought this rocker when he dedicated the Fort after it was referbished.

Brother and Sister Hinkley's bed

Picture of Ira and Sister Hinkley

A look into Ira and Sister Hinkley's Room

Sister Hinkley's fancy dress. She was very small and petite. Notice the chamber pot under the wash stand.

Baby Dress

Sister Hinkley's work dress.

Girls room with a wash stand, and tooth brushes made out of bones and horse or pig hair. They used that because it was stiff enough to do some good. Thank goodness for modern day hygene and tools! I would not like to brush my teeth with pig hair.

Girls room with doll rocker

Girls room with sewing machine, sewing box, and the box on the mantle is to keep people hair to make dolls with.

Girls Room and their church dresses.

These are pictures of Bryant and Edward Hinkley, Ira Hinkley's Sons, and his wife. There was only one person shot at the Fort, and that was Bryant (President Hinkley's Father) shot by his brother Edward in the knee on accident.

THis is the Girls room.

Picture of childs cloths and I love this quilt.

Baby Rocker

Notice the Curling Iron on the dresser.

THis is a weasle. The girls would wind yarn. After so many rotations, the weasle would pop and they would know there was a certain yardage of yarn ready. This is where the saying "Pop goes the Weasle" came from.
