A Port Hole to fire weapons out of for defense and to also look and see who would be trying to come in. Looking throught the hole, you can see the garden.

Dad and Susie looking out the port holes

Susie looking out to see who is knocking to come in the fort. The Fort is made out of Lava Rock from an Inactive Volcano in the area.

All the Beds have a Rolling Pin on the Headboard to beat the Mattress lumps out.

The Dominoes on the Table are bone on wood. They were found in the courtyard when the Church was doing the Excavation.

This is the Boys room with elk skins on the bed.

This is the root cellar in the boys room.

This is the Loom, a rug is in progress. On certain days of the week, some of the Sister Missionaries get to work at the loom.

THis large Tub is where everyone bathed. The Yolk is what they carried water with. usually the men would bath first, then the women, then the children (oldest to youngest boys before the girls, then the babies. This is where the saying "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" came from because the water would be so dirty by the time the baby had a turn, that you could easily loose the baby in the water. Thanks Goodness for clean running water. What a blessing!

This is the Laundry Room. There are Irons, Soap on the Table, and Yarn Balls made out of Cloth.

This is more kitchen stuff.

Anouther picture of the kitchen stove and tools.

This is the Butter Churn. They made butter everyday. They had 30 cows that supplied the milk for the butter.

This is the Juice Maker. They would gather apples from the orchard east of the fort.

A picture of the Stove. The 2 Large Bread pans would make 14 loaves every day. The Lady of the house (Sister Hinkley) would make 30 pies each day. All in a effort to feed everybody who lived there and all the weary travlers who stopped in. What an amazing woman.

This is a picture into the kitchen.

This is a picture of the Telegraph Office. The jars under the table hold the chemicals they made batteries with for the telegraph. The large blue jar (the battery) would last 90 days.

This is the room for all the Men at the Fort. The flag in this picture is the origional flag with 37 stars. What a cool time in history.

Picture of the water barrel in the corner to catch the rain water. if they ran out of water, they would have to haul water 1.5 miles. Whew! what a lot of work that would be!

This is looking into the fort from the entance. what you see is a beautiful court yard, and it is beautiful compared to the dessert surrounding the for on the out side.

Our first stop was Cove Fort. This little cabin belonged to Ira Hinkley (President Hinkley's Grandfather)it is his origional cabin in Coalville. This second picture is the plaque on the arch abouve the fort entrance for Cove Fort. Ira was called to come settle this southern area. They had to build this fort to protect themselves and travlers from the indians.

My Dad, Arley, took all us girls to St. George on a historical tour. We stopped at many Church history sites, and got to see and meet family, and stay with our wonderful friend Sandra Perrie.

Well, Today has not been a fun one. I woke up in the night around 2 am and felt increddibly ill. I tried to fall back asleep, and when I was almost there, I had to rush to the bathroom to throw up. It was awful, from 2:30am to 6 am I threw up six times!(As if once wasn't enough!)To top it off Colby is camping this week for work, so there no one to feel sorry for me or bring me a cold cup of water.:( But things are looking up now, finanlly I am beginning to feel a little better.

here is my wonderful husband, showing off his sweet riding skills.

Here we are enjoying a much appreciated lunch. We were starving by the time we had lunch. but we found a nice shady spot to enjoy it in.

Diamond, Kyle's Horse.

(Blonde, the pack horse, and jill, Colby's mule)Satureday, Aug 23, Colby convinced me to go with him and Dusty, Blake, and Bridger to clear trails. I went, and I had a good time with them all. I was pretty nervous at first, and Bridger had his new horse with us, they are breaking her in right now... She was pretty wild at first, and I was afraid she would scare my horse, and I just was not ready to deal with that. After a while though, Daisy (Bridgers's Horse) calmed down, and so did I and I was able to enjoy the day.PLUS... We made it back before dark!!! What a releif!

Well, I decided to go on vacation to St.George, Ut with my family, and the day I left Colby got hit in the face by a stick while clearing a trail and had to go get Eight Stitches. Poor fella, wish I coulda been there for him.

Well, this was a Stupendous way to start the day before going to work at the Mckinny's in Swan Valley, and then cutting wood. Travis invited us out to the Sand Dunes to try out his new RZR. We got up at 6am and were on our way. It was a perfect morning for it, no one else was up yet, so it was just us out on the dunes. Colby, Mairah, and the man of the day Travis. Travis was so generous and let Colby and I ride in the RZR and he rode on the four wheeler most of hte time. however, he did ride the RZR to make some jumps (Check out the first video) Colby made some too (Check out the second video)I also had a chance to drive. i was scared out of my mind, and sick--I felt like we were on some carnival ride-- I tried driving the RZR up the hill Colby and Travis jumped, but i got stuck in all the sand right at the top. Boy Howdy, I was sooooo Scared, I thought I was going to rolll over and die in the crash, But when I got out, I saw that the sand was up over the tires and that I wasn't going anywhere. THe picture with Colby and Travis standing by the RZR is showing how far they jumped. I was right at the top of the hill where they jumped and they are marking their landing spot. Thanks Travis for a wild time (Sabra, you really missed out). Hopefully we can do it again.

Here we are just comming out of the temple together. Our sealer is standing in the doorway holding the door for us. His name is Val R Christensen. He was so sweet and kind to us. He talked to us for a while and gave us some great advice, and instructed us on the covenants we were making that day. He also served as my cousin Juleen's mission president, and I felt like there was a special connection to him with our family. He was so pleased to marry us and seal us together. He is our temple president here and doesn't get to do that too often.

We were blessed to have our families come to the wedding. It was really special to have them come.
April 16, 2009 Truly was one of the best days in our life. Colby and I were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Rexburg Temple at 11 am. It was such a perfect day. I can't imagine more happiness than what I felt as I knelt accross the alter and looked into Colby's sparkling blue eyes. We would now be our own family...forever. As we looked in the mirrors at eachother, we really did go on forever, and the same feelings I had on our first date came back - yes this is it, this is the boy I am going to marry-
